open backed harps

Hi Everyone,
I posted a comment about this but failed to explain the obvious.
The opened back Marine Band is a charactic of pre-war production.
The process of opening up the backs of custom harps is to immitate the
look of the pre-war's. The old world craftsmanship was exceptional.
The pre-wars also had a Star of David in the middle of the lower cover and
sometime after Hitler took over Germany, that was changed.
Perhaps the legends in the movies, recorded in Germany had acess to
pre-war harps? Maybe Hohner "hooked them up" or maybe they just had them
because it was so long ago? Who Knows?
