Puckering is just as "valid" and probably MORE common than TB'ing.
Most of the "veteran" players (no, I'm not including myself in that
group) use a combination of embrouchures.

I subscribe to Harp-L because I enjoy reading all the ON-list posts
about just this sort of thing....
