Daily Almanac - June 9

The legendary Les Paul was born on this day in 1916. Paul, who is best
known for his guitar work and for his break-through recording techniques,
began his playing career as a harmonica player under the name of "Rhubarb
Red" in the 1930's.

Jazz banjo and harmonica player Sandy Weltman was born on this day in 1956.
Weltman has released two albums of straight Jazz as well as one of Klezmer
music. Sandy studied under Howard Levy and uses the diatonic with overbends
to achieve the difficult scales that Jazz demands.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
