Sincere spam



I got this too.  I'd like to coin a new term for it.  Sincere spam or SS.
It's where you post sincere questions to discussion list just for the sake
of using the list.

SS comprises queries and statements that are indistinguishable from genuine
discussion.  On this list it might be an question like, "Which technique
should I practice more, pucker or tongue block?"

For it to be SS you have to not really care about the content of the
discussion, sparking the discussion is the main motive.

Come to think of it Web sites, newspapers, TV and Radio talk shows, do this
all the time.

Here is my own contribution, "Has anybody out there done this?"
