I figure most of us have picked one up in an ebay
fury. They're too dang big and heavy to cup, and,
uncupped, they sound horrible. I keep one in my music
room anyway- right on the desk where I put it the
first day, after hearing how thin it was. But it's
always the first mic anyone notices. Most harp books
[Portnoy's, Bakers] have a picture of them somewhere.
I guess they got The Look. I know a guy who keeps one
on stage and acts like it's his ~Chromatic Mic~. But
he rarely uses it.
