I play trombone as well and usually try to sit so as to have my torso (from
the waist up) the same as it would be if I were standing.  In that sitting
straight-up posture you can tilt your head from up to down and back and feel
where the wind pipe in the throat feels most open.  This for me usually ends
up with the back of my head lined up with the spine, and my chin just a
little lower than I think it should be - usually my head is too far back at
first.

Of course, brass players obsess about air, but may as well optimize the air
flow for the harp too...
