Daily Almanac - April 22

Vaudeville and studio harmonica player George Fields was born on this day in
1921. George has been playing since he was in his teens, learning from Eddy
Manson and has gone on to play with the cappy Barra band, the Harmonica
Solidaires and you can also hear George play on the soundtracks to "Ruby
Gentry", "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and other great films.

Blues harmonica player George "Harmonica" Smith was born on this day in
1924. Smith drifted around the South during the 1930's and 40's and settled
for a while in Chicago, where he played with Muddy Waters. Traveling some
more he settled in California, when he spent most of the rest of his life
and was the mentor for a generation of West Coast Blues harmonica players.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
