Stage Organization

I use a fisherman's vest to keep my harps organized. There are
pockets all over the place. Thread and needle can subdivide the
pockets to the right size. I keep one big pocket available to hold my
harp mike when I'm not using it. The upper left breast pocket is just
big enough to hold one bottle of beer on those really hot evenings
(and in Manila it can get VERY hot in a cramped club without air
conditioning). Except for the pockets mine is made of open knit
stitches so that air can circulate; otherwise the vest can be too hot.
I keep my chromatic in a "holster" on the belt which I bought from
Farrell. Sometimes you can find these vests on sale -- I got mine for
$5.00 about 15 years ago. To protect the harps from dust and other
garbage, I keep them in their cases, which are arranged from low F on
up. Since Oskars, which I mostly use, come in a box that opens on the
end, it's easy to get harps in and out while the case is still in the
pocket. Big stickers on the end of the box remind me of the key,
though by now I pretty much know by feel what goes where. For storage
at home and hauling to the gig, everything goes into a big plastic
     fishing tackle case.

I hope this isn't repetitious -- for some reason I didn't get Digest
#124 from last Saturday when this discussion was in full swing.
