RE: DLS - Dry Lips Syndrome

Red (Chris),
As you are only too painfully aware, Santa Ana winds coming off of the
high and/or low deserts are a common phenomenon during the fall and early
winter months in Southern California. You are fortunate that you don't have
any other symptoms like allergies and/or asthma which many suffer from during
these offshore winds. You may want to stop playing the harp until the winds
lay down. I would also suggest a nasal (saline) spray to at least keep that
part of your anatomy moist. Also, make sure you drink lots of extra water to
make up for the increased dehydration that occurs, thus leading to your dry/er
lips, etc. Humidities during these winds can drop from normal (in LA) of
20-40% to below 5% or even less if one actually lives in the desert.
Good luck and pray for onshore winds!
