RE: blues and symphony orchestras.....



I have a tape that has William Russo's "Street Music", Op. 65, part 3.
It's Deutsche Grammophon Musikfest 413 258-4
, LP is 413 258-1.  The
title of the tape is "Rhapsody In Blue", and it contains the Rhapsody and
"Street Music" on one side, and Joplin's Rags on the other.  A nice
selection of american music.

The Russo number, performed by Siegel with the San Fransisco Symphony,
is great.  It's only one part of the peice, but it is THE harp playing that
made me want to learn to play.
